I can see now why the Judge separated from her....she didn't have a head.

nightmares after leaving
by myownlife inhello everyone, i have been reading the different topics and haven't seen this discussed..... i was raised in the 'truth' and decided when i was 19 this was not for me...but unfortunately it took years after that to finally make the clean break.
during that time and up until about a year ago, i was having strange and disturbing nightmares..it finally came to a head when i dreamed that i cussed out the elders in the congregation i had left.,..woke up in a sweat but felt great!
has anyone else experienced this?

Think About It
No nightmares for me.
You know what I really miss? I've not gotten to threaten to shoot or whip anymore aloholic abusing husbands for calling me up after I would counsel the sister to leave his sorry ass.
Man, those were good times.

Watchtower 2080 "New thought on the Generation"
by dozy inwatchtower study article jun 15th 2080 (direct retina scanned edition).
14...the watchtower of nov 15th 2037 brought out the increased light that the 144,000 of revelation should not be understood as a figurative number , but that the heavenly hope is open to all who wish to partake.
we rejoice that the number who profess such a hope has risen to over one million now , together with the over 35 million of the great crowd class.

No way we make it to 2080. This system of things will end in 2075. 1975 was a typo.

Good for you Highdose! I just can't get over that the WTS fails to recognize that the religion cause people emotional problems and then make changes to address the issues for the better. They spend all this time and effort trying to get people in the front door and once you are in, you are put on such an emotional rollercoaster that many scramble to exit the backdoor.
It's very simple....show people more love & acceptance and be more normal. Do that along with some doctinal changes and it won't be as damaging to people.
HighDoseOfLife can be your new name.

What's the silliest, funniest, stupidest, most embarassing thing you ever did on the platform?
by dissed inits friday evening and after being trapped in our home all week with over 2 meters (6 ft) of snow on the ground and more coming........ i feel the need to get a little silly.. so, as no one here really knows me, i can share one of lifes embarassing moments from the kh.
seeing as it's my question, i get to go first.. during the bible review, i accidentally used the s**t word.
my wife gave me a "wth" look.

In a public talk, I once said OMG when describing my reaction to something shocking I had seen. One theocratic clone elder said he was offended. I was embarassed to have been associated with such kooks.

Did You Ever Have Any Dirt On Some Witnesses?
by minimus ini knew some elders that were very reluctant to go after certain people because those people knew little secrets that they kept to themselves.. many bethelites i knew were huge drinkers.
there was kind of an unwritten pact that if you were cool with it, you were part of the "in" group= you would get "privileges" and bigshots would be your "friends".. did you ever have something over another witness?
?.

Not really dirt....but, I had some embarrassing things on a CO and his buddy. He hand picked a JC of his kiss asses to look into it and it was swept under the rug.

What do you know about Hookah Bars?
by Magwitch inmy two daughters are really into the hookah scene.
i do not know if this is just a college thing or something else.
should i be concerned?.
-
Think About It
You learn something everyday. When it said Hookah bar....I though it meant "hooker bar". I'm not into the smoking scene, but if you want to rock the house singing in a karaoke bar...I'm in.

did you like being called "brother" or "sister"?
by highdose ini always found it very patronising, particulay as most of the jw's who did that treated me very badly and not like a sister at all!.
i also hated when brothers would say " i've met a lovely sister and i'm planning to marry her!
" sounds so incestuous!

Think About It
Calling people Brother or Sister has it's place....but NOT all the time. True, it can sound cultish to some people and that PO calling his wife "sister" in a non-KH activity sounds creepy. In one stuffy cong. they would get on me for mixing it up when calling names from the platform or book study.

This was very noticeable when I left 15 yrs ago. It seemed like all of a sudden prayers, articles and general talk & comments were all filled with this praise about the BG and F&DS. To me it was sickening. I thought Jesus needed to be mentioned more. It seemed people were more concerned with being a theocratic clone pulled out of Brooklyn's ass.
